North To Vermont

I'm off to Brownsville, VT tomorrow to run in the Vermont 50 on Sunday. Well, more like the VT 20 for me since I am running with two others as part of a relay team. I'll be running the 3rd (last) leg of the race which is somewhere between 18 and 20 miles depending on who you talk to and what you read. Either way it will be a tough run with lots of elevation gain. I'm looking forward to running mile after mile of sweet single track though the mountains.

I'm a little concerned about my knee. It's still sore all the time and I'm beginning to think it's not an ITB issue but something more serious. The mountain running will be a good test to see if I can continue to run through this latest injury or if I'll have to make a much dreaded appointment with a medical professional.

Should be a fun weekend meeting up with friends I haven't seen since the Oxford Dam race in early August. I also want to wish the gang from Lynn Woods speedy legs and strong lungs as they tackle the 50 mile and 50K courses.

  1. Have fun running the relay! Hope the knee issue is just an overuse injury...

  2. Hope your knee gets better...watch the hills! Don't try to run though the pain for too long!
Thanks for all of your support and advice by the way, it has really helped me prepare for tomorrow!

  3. I'm a bit jealous I must say. VT50 is my favorite race. Can't wait to hear all about it. Hope you'll have some great weather.
